SoHow is built to keep your data on your device — so most privacy choices are yours to make directly in the app, instantly, without contacting anyone. Here's everything you control.
SoHow does not sell or share your personal information — full stop. There is nothing to opt out of, because it never happens. We don't run advertising trackers and we don't disclose your data to data brokers.
During your free trial and with SoHow Pro, Enhanced AI is on by default to give you the most accurate results, which means a compressed photo of the meal you log is sent to our AI provider for that estimate.
Prefer to keep everything on your device? Turn it off: Profile → Enhanced AI → off. Analysis then runs entirely on your iPhone.
You decide exactly which Health metrics SoHow can read or write. Manage or revoke access anytime: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → SoHow.
SoHow only uses the camera/photo library when you log a meal. Manage permissions: Settings → SoHow → Photos / Camera.
Get a full copy of everything you've logged as a CSV file: Profile → Your data → Export.
Because we don't keep a copy on any server, deleting on your device deletes it everywhere.
Since SoHow doesn't hold your data on servers, the fastest way to access, correct, port, or delete your data is directly in the app (above). If you still want to make a formal request — or ask us to confirm we hold nothing about you — email privacy@sohow.app. We'll respond within the timeframe required by your local law (e.g., 30 days under GDPR, 45 days under CCPA). We may need to verify that the request comes from you.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (EEA/UK), and California residents may use an authorized agent.
